Alpine Ski Program Goals

The program is designed to develop the foundational aspects of SL & GS in technical skiing, drill courses & gate training environments.

We believe in developing technical mastery using proven (& constantly refining) progressions and a high volume of skiing.
* Like most, we believe that strong fundamentals are key to success, at all stages
* We believe that a good athlete can do anything in any situation
* Weak skills are identified, isolated, developed and then put back into the big picture
* The overall focus is on the precise and consistent execution of solid fundamentals in all turn shapes, on all-terrain, on all surfaces, and in all weather conditions

We believe in a high volume of intelligent programming to effectively use the available time

* Minimize risk of burn out, and to develop well rounded and versatile athletes
* Doing the right things in the right amounts to maximize skill learning, retention and transfer to competition

We work from a skill based curriculum using purposeful and proven progressions
* Though the curriculum is established, we are constantly refining in order to find the most efficient and effective way to make athletes faster
* Technical drills in, and out of gates

We believe in a high volume of intelligent programming to maximize the use of available time, minimize risk of burn out, develop well rounded and versatile athletes

Spring and Fall Ski Racing

The Norway 2020 project is built around two primary races; round 1 of the Ski Star Winter Games @ Salen, and round 2 of the Ski Star Winter Games @ Hemsedal.

Racing is an integral part of the program at all levels * Individual athletes have individual needs. Not all athletes will start in all races * Developmental need, practicality, train to race ratio, injury, competitive aspirations are primary guiding variables with all decisions * Effective athletes management is imperative in the selection of all race starts (more relevant at the FIS levels) * Costs for away races are not included in the program fees
